Embrace Peace for the Good of all

Image
The All Africa Baptist Fellowship is fully committed to defending matters that concern Human Rights, Peacebuilding, Religious Freedom, and Multifaith Relations across Africa. We therefore receive with great concern the ongoing global uproar regarding the largest black nation on earth, Nigeria. To us in Africa and the Baptist family, the peace, stability, and prosperity of Nigeria is a blessing to the entire continent. We therefore appeal to all the parties concerned to embrace peace for the good of all.  The alleged violations of religious freedom and human rights in Nigeria call for great concern, and as Baptists on the continent of Africa, we are deeply saddened and call on all the stakeholders to chart the paths that put a stop to the menace of religious crisis. The Nigerian government has the responsibility of securing the lives and properties of people of all faiths, including Christians.   The All Africa Baptist Fellowship, a gathering of about 22 million baptized Christians, condemns the post-election destruction crisis ravaging our continent. We are undoubtedly empathetic with those whose legal franchise was allegedly stolen or denied, leading to rioting, destruction of lives and properties, and shutdown of the economy of these nations, with the majority of the poor, vulnerable, and homeless suffering direct harm. We therefore appeal to the electoral, government agencies and the general public  in Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Tanzania, and other concerned countries to embrace peace, dialogue, and patriotism, leading to the restoration of normalcy and prosperity in our nations. WE ARE WITH YOU IN PRAYER Let us pray for the: - Reign of peace in Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, and Tanzania. [Isaiah 9:6] - Touch of God on the electoral officers to do the right thing. [Proverbs 2:6] - Healing of the wounds of the aggrieved members of the public. [Psalm 147:3] - Exposure of ...
