BEYOND JERUSALEM

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

We extend a warm welcome to the year 2026, and we pray that it will be filled with glorious and lasting harvests in Jesus name.

The Lord has greatly assisted the All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF) in achieving significant milestones in 2025. We highlighted some of these accomplishments in our previous edition, and we are grateful to God and our partners across Africa and beyond for their unwavering support.

As adopted during the 2025 Executive Council Meeting, our theme for 2025-2027 is "Beyond Jerusalem" (Acts 1:8). Last year, we embarked on this journey, and it received widespread acceptance. This year, we call on every Baptist individual, family, local church, convention, union, and association to take the gospel beyond Jerusalem.

The AABF, through the African Baptist Mission Board (ABMB), has taken the lead by sending eight young missionaries to The Gambia, South Africa, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, and Namibia as part of our Youth Mission Year (YMY) program. We are now preparing to launch the second cohort.

We are committed to leading 23 million baptized Christians beyond Jerusalem through our Go Month in May and the Last Quarter Evangelism from October to December 2026.

To deepen our understanding of mission and evangelism, we will be hosting a Mission-Driven National and Church Leaders' Retreat in Rio Janeiro, Brazil, in April 2026. Additionally, our 2026 General Gathering in Nairobi, Kenya, will feature a four-day Mission Summit from September 30 to October 4, 2026.

As individuals, families, auxiliaries, churches, and Baptist bodies, we are responsible for taking the gospel beyond our comfort zones. We encourage our Baptist family to share the gospel through their vocations, professions, social media platforms, vacations, resources, and more.

In line with the Acts 2 Movement of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), we will focus on five paths:

A. Witness Path: Share your personal story of faith confidently and compassionately.

B. Neighbor Path: Be a light in your community.

C. Bible Path: Pray and give generously to support global missions.

D. Freedom Path: Stand boldly for religious freedom and the right to worship.

E. Care Path: Demonstrate Christ's love through tangible actions.

Let us take intentional steps to witness, shine Christ's light, pray, give, declare religious freedom, and embody Christ's love. Our lives are for Christ; let us live for the gospel and go beyond Jerusalem.

Wishing you a fulfilling and fruitful 2026!
